Are you in pain? Are you stiff in certain movements? You can’t move in the same way that you used to?
Remedial therapy is a clinical service. Usually, people who come in experience a specific pain, injury or lack of mobility. The session starts with full body postural assessment and/or localized muscle assessments to figure out what muscle(s) are being impaired. The treatment may include dry needling (use of acupuncture needles to treat trigger points), various massage techniques and taping. At the end, I usually do a post treatment assessment to check for improvement and prescribe some basic exercises and/or stretches to do at home.
It is important to remember that depending on the type of condition and the amount of time the problem has been happening for, the recovery may vary in time and number of sessions. If you want to solve a problem, it is important to commit to a treatment plan that may include more than one session and an at home-based practice with strengthening exercises and stretches.
I would suggest booking an initial session of 90 minutes to have enough time for all necessary assessments and treatment.
